Part of the PARTICIPATE programme.

I've been supporting artists for the past 10 years to develop projects they are passionate about. I work closely with them to get it in good shape and write a funding application. As part of the arrangement I take on a role within the project as a curator, advisor or mentor and have used A3 Project Space as a base. Artists include: Ming De Nasty, Carolyn Morton, Rich White, Stewart Easton, Marlene Smith & Mahtab Hussain.

With the PPFA programme I wanted to test out if it would be feasible to be funded so I could expand this service to artists so I devised a programme for creative practitioners in planning an art project and writing a funding application. The programme became part of the PARTICIPATE programme in which studio artists at A3 each delivered a project.

I recruited a cohort of 5 artists but then Covid hit us so the group sessions and 1-2-1 mentoring sessions were delivered online via Zoom.

The cohort of artists followed a programme of group sessions and had one-to-one sessions to refine their ideas. By the end of the programme each artist had refined their proposed project idea, devised a project plan and identified practical ways of funding it.
